Distinguish the quality of diesel generator set from the following aspects:
1. Look at the sign and appearance of the generator. See which factory produced it, when it was delivered, and how long it is from now; See whether the paint on the surface falls off, whether the parts are damaged, whether the model is eliminated, etc. Judge the new (good or bad) degree of the generator from the signs and appearance.
2. Test run.
3. Ask about the purchase time, purpose and reasons for the current sale of the generator, the previous repair, which main parts have been replaced, and what problems exist in use, so as to have a more comprehensive and systematic understanding of the generator.
4. Connect the positive lead of the multimeter to the armature terminal of the generator and the negative lead to ground. The voltage of the armature terminal of the 12V generator should be 13.5 ~ 14.5V, and the voltage of the armature terminal of the 24V generator should fluctuate between 27 ~ 29V. If the voltage indicated by the multimeter is close to the voltage value of the battery on the vehicle and the pointer does not move, it indicates that the generator does not generate electricity.
